Welcome to "Reconnecting..." for October. 

I've just returned from 2 magical weeks in South Africa, full of inspiration and excitement about the path I'm on.  I had thought perhaps I wouldn't manage to write a newsletter this month because of the trip away but I do have a few snippets to share with you and a host of new subscribers who I would like to welcome!  For those of you new to "Reconnecting...", this is a monthly email forum for ideas, information and inspiration about health, healing, energy, the planet, and our journey back to the light.  I usually offer various book, CD and website reviews as well as any other information which touches my heart in some way.

My trip to South Africa was to connect more deeply with Colourworks - the system of colour, healing, light and transformation that has become my passion.  At the place of its birth the system seemed to glow even more brightly - something to do with all that sunshine and the clarity of the light there!  If you have yet to experience the potency and beauty of Colourworks, there is much magic and delight to be experienced.  What happens with this system is that your body and your cells 'get it' even if your conscious mind doesn't seem to.  This happened a lot for me during my time in SA.  I seemed to have switched off the part of my brain that is usually in overdrive - the Gemini thinking mind - and to be receiving and experiencing on a body level, a heart level.  Quite profound, I can tell you!

Colourworks Bottle of the Month: No. 8 - Saturn



Saturn is a bottle and an energy we worked with again and again during the workshop in South Africa. Saturn is about power and abundance, and helping
us reclaim them. It is about building such deep, strong foundations that we can create whatever structure we want. Without strong foundations our
structure may topple and fall, so Saturn assists us in finding the bricks and blocks in our creations that are unstable so that we may remove them. Saturn

Train as a Colourworks Therapist

My 2-day workshop Colour 1 is being held on 21-22 October at the Centre at The Green House, Salisbury.  I have just a couple of places left so if you're interested, please contact me as soon as possible.

This workshop is for you if you would like to:

• experience an extraordinary system for healing, transformation, growth and change
  
• make powerful shifts in your life
• deepen your understanding of yourself and others
• learn how to offer insightful readings for others using vibrant bottles of coloured oils
• learn how to use colour to enhance and amplify any therapy or form of healing or as a stand-alone healing tool
  

This is the first part of a certificated training course which qualifies you to work as a Colourworks Therapist.  You may, however, take the course simply for your own enjoyment and growth.  Either way you will come away with incredible tools to assist yourself and others.

Ban on Battery Cages

Compassion in World Farming (CIWF) is working tirelessly to ensure the ban on battery cages is implemented.

"The EU’s caged hens need your help – NOW!
In 1999, CIWF helped achieved momentous legislation in the EU’s Laying Hens Directive: a ban on conventional battery cages for egg-laying hens in the EU from 2012.

This ban is now under threat...
The Directive requires the cage ban to be reviewed before it comes into effect. This review will take place over the next few months. CIWF is aware that many EU egg producers want this ban to be postponed for many years - or dropped.  We cannot lose this monumental piece of legislation as it is a beacon of hope for the advancement of animal welfare and will prevent the incarceration of millions more egg-laying hens."

Cygnus Book Circle

Jane Mallen, who lives in Salisbury, is planning to start a Cygnus Book Circle.  This discussion group around Mind, Body and Spirit books will meet monthly on either a Monday or Wednesday evening, depending on the majority preference.  Some of you may already be familiar with Cygnus Books, a family-run business in Wales, who send out a free monthly publication, The Cygnus Review.  Books will be chosen by members of the Circle, either from the Review or from the extensive backlist.  They may be ordered at a discount two months ahead of the meeting at which the book will be discussed, or purchased independently.  The object is to share opinions and ideas around the books - perhaps helping each other to reach insights we would not have thought of by ourselves.
