Korani Newsletter

Welcome to my latest newsletter. Although I've been writing these newsletters for nearly 2 years now, I'm calling this one "Issue 1" as it's the first one to use the name Korani and it feels like a new beginning of sorts. The name Korani was brought forth for me by a powerful healer and friend, and I have been gradually exploring what it means to live this name. It now reflects more of who I am and so it feels right to connect with the its energy in my daily life and my work.

As you can see my new website is up and running and also has a new name - www.korani.net.

The new site features all the glorious Colourworks bottles for you to view and has the facility for you to purchase them online. I will be continually updating my site so do keep coming back to it - you may like to bookmark it for easy reference.

I've been struck recently with the contrasting experiences of my clients, colleagues and friends. Many are having a particularly challenging time right now, experiencing more darkness in themselves and the world than usual. Old issues have been coming up for another look, and fears have been coming to the fore. The unveiling of a new Colourworks bottle - a bottle that looks totally black (but is in fact deepest magenta) - seems to reflect all that we have been experiencing at this time about our own shadow, our own darkness (more about this in the latest Colourworks Newsletter, see below).

On the other hand, in the UK we are having the most spectacular autumn, and many I have spoken to are glorying in the light, the colour, the golden hues and energies. It feels a significant time on the planet. The strength and power of the light at this time is bringing up to the surface all that is apparently dark. All that is not in alignment with the highest truth, the highest energies and the brightest light is beginning to fall away. And in the process we can get caught up in what appears to be darkness. It is only when we can sit with that darkness, really allow ourselves to dive into it and experience it fully that we can begin to see it for what it is. Transformation is what happens when we go deep into the dark. We allow it, we stop resisting it, and then, in time, we begin to see the light once more. We emerge, lighter, wiser and more evolved. But we must allow that process of transmutation and transformation. When we long only for light, only for the highs, we are missing a fundamental part of the human experience. To know and own our shadow, the deepest recesses of who we are, is liberating indeed. When we can let go of the judgement that labels our emotions, our thoughts, our feelings as 'negative' or somehow not acceptable, and begin to sit with them, listen to them, acknowledge and allow them, the resistance drops. When we let go of resistance, we facilitate a process that is almost magical in its unfolding. We allow those 'negative' aspects of ourselves to transform into keys to our soul and our evolution as spiritual beings.

Winter Resourcing with Colour and Chi Kung

Restore, rebalance and conserve your natural energy this wintertime...

In this one-day workshop we will tune into the seasonal energies to focus on positive and practical ways to enhance your well-being. The winter is time to use the stores wisely gathered from the autumn time, to conserve what you have and to keep yourself well despite the cold and dark. It is a time to begin tentatively looking ahead towards the unfolding New Year. This is the time to plunge the depths of your imagination and intuition, flushing out the winter ‘blues’ and yet using this very colour to nourish you at a deep fundamental level.

Winter connects with the element of Water, which is associated with the kidneys and bladder, bones and brain. This very fundamental element is essential for all life on Earth and is used to represent the transformational qualities within us all. We will work with imagery, exercises and breath to calm the mind and give space for this work, promoting a natural flow of chi to assist the body in clearing old blockages and toxins which could impede harmonious health.

In the Colourworks system the Water element is a means for connecting with the emotions and being in one’s flow. We will work with the Water essence to tap into our innate deep resources, to support and encourage us to step through fears and to express ourselves clearly. Water teaches us to flow in the river of life and to clear and cleanse ourselves of unnecessary and limiting beliefs and behaviours. Water helps deepen our connection with our authentic inspirational selves.
