Taking Care of Yourself Korani How often does someone say to you: “Take care” or “Look after yourself”. “Yes”, you say, “I will”. But just how do you look after yourself? Here’s a short guided journey to tap into your inner guidance so that you might discover new ways to truly look after yourself. Don't let anything limit you. Don't discard any ideas that come. Let them all in. You never know if one of them might plant a seed. Be open. You may like to jot down answers or insights as they come to you, or you may prefer just to stay with the exercise and experience whatever comes. Sit and focus on your breath until you feel calm and centred. Call in the truth of you – your spirit, your soul, your Higher Self – whatever you like to call it – the you who knows, who sees, who understands, beyond your limited ego/mind. Ask it to show you, in images, or tell you, in words, or just to give you the feeling of what it means to take care of yourself. What could you do for yourself? Let the information come to you. Is there a symbol, an image or a word that could act as a trigger for you, to help you to remember to do those things? What could you stop doing? What could you give up? How might that free you up? How might that nurture or nourish you? What does it feel like to take care of yourself? What emotions does it bring up for you? Do you believe you deserve nurturing and care? If not, why not? Where does that belief stem from? Does it still serve you? Would you be willing to let it go? If you do believe yourself worthy of care, what prevents you from taking it? Who would you be if you took great care of yourself? What might be possible for you? Take some long, deep breaths and gently come back to your awareness of your surroundings. |
